Uttarakhand Women Dominate Khelo India Silat League 2025
The women`s team from Uttarakhand delivered an outstanding performance in the Khelo India North Zone Pencak Silat Women`s League 2025, winning 14 gold, 11 silver, and 16 bronze medals, securing a total of 41 medals and claiming the first position. For this remarkable achievement, the team was awarded a cash prize of ₹1.6 lakh.
The competition was held from February 10-13, 2025, at Eklavya Sports Stadium, Agra, with over 500 athletes from eight North Indian states participating. The event was inaugurated by Babita Singh, Chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh State Women’s Commission, and Anupama Kulshrestha, ADG of Agra Zone.
Under the guidance of Head Coach Rohit and Women`s Coach Sarika Patel, the Uttarakhand team showcased an exceptional performance. Medal winners will receive a cash reward of ₹6000 for gold, ₹4000 for silver, and ₹2000 for bronze.
On this achievement, Manoj Rajhans, President of the Pencak Silat Association of Udham Singh Nagar, and Kewal Kishan Bharti, President of the Uttarakhand Pencak Silat Association, congratulated the players. Uttarakhand`s success once again highlights the state`s sporting excellence.
