During the meeting, he held extensive discussions with departmental officials on reforms in the education system, implementation of new policies, and expansion of existing schemes. He instructed that necessary preparations be made to implement the examination system and other provisions in line with the National Education Policy at the earliest.
More Opportunities for Students Under Bharat Darshan Yojana
The Chief Secretary directed that the "Bharat Darshan Yojana" be expanded, with a target of including at least 1,000 students in 2025. He further set a target of increasing the number to 5,000 students by 2026. Under this scheme, students will visit India’s prestigious scientific, technical, and military institutions. He also directed that the duration of the tour be extended to seven days, highlighting it as a significant initiative for students` exploration and skill development.
Accelerated Construction of Cluster School Buildings
In the meeting, instructions were given to expedite the construction of 559 proposed cluster schools. The Chief Secretary directed that the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for all identified schools be prepared and submitted within one month. He also contacted heads of the designated executing agencies by phone during the meeting and instructed them to ensure timely DPR submission. DPRs for smart classrooms and computer labs must also be completed within the same timeline.
Timelines Must Be Set for All Construction Projects
The Chief Secretary emphasized the need to set clear timelines for all construction-related work and called for regular reviews at the level of Secretary, Additional Secretary, and Director General. He stated that clearly defined responsibilities at every level are essential to accelerate progress in the education sector.
Promotion of Residential Schools
