CM Dhami Boosts Transport Force, Unveils Safety Drive
Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami distributed appointment letters to 112 newly appointed transport constables at a ceremony held at the Mukhya Sevak Sadan. He emphasized that government jobs are not just employment but a social responsibility, urging the new recruits to serve with dedication, discipline, and cooperation with the public.
Highlighting their key role in road safety, vehicle monitoring, and pollution control, CM Dhami said the government is committed to creating a transparent and corruption-free system. He reiterated that complaints are being addressed effectively through toll-free number 1064.
The Chief Minister also flagged off two promotional vehicles to raise awareness on road safety along the Chardham Yatra route. He announced the implementation of the “New Uttarakhand Road Safety Policy 2025”, aiming to reduce road accident fatalities by 50% by 2030.
Reaffirming the government`s stand on fair recruitment, CM Dhami said over 23,000 government jobs have been provided in the past three years under the country’s toughest anti-cheating law. “We’ve ended the culture of nepotism and corruption, ensuring that deserving youth get equal opportunities,” he said.
The event was attended by Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi, Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal, MLA Khajan Das, senior officials, and the newly selected candidates.
