To ease Dehradun’s parking woes, the city has received its first-ever automated car parking system. Initiated by District Magistrate Savin Bansal, the facility has been constructed at three locations and can accommodate a total of 246 vehicles. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will soon inaugurate the new system.

The automated parking facilities have been set up at three key locations in Dehradun: between Lansdowne Chowk and the road connecting Gandhi Park to Parade Ground, opposite the Tibetan Market near Lansdowne Chowk, and within the premises of Coronation Hospital.

What is an Automated Parking System?
This is a multi-storey mechanical system where drivers only need to bring their car to the designated entry point. From there, the system automatically lifts and parks the vehicle in a suitable slot. It saves land space and reduces traffic congestion.

This high-tech parking solution is a major step forward in Dehradun’s journey toward becoming a smarter city.
