Uttarakhand Police has uncovered a major inter-state drug syndicate, seizing MDMA worth ₹12 crore along with a large quantity of raw material. The gang was manufacturing MDMA in Uttarakhand and Mumbai and supplying it to international markets.

In a joint operation by the STF, Champawat, Pithoragarh, and Udham Singh Nagar police, the kingpin Kunal Kohli was arrested from Nanakmatta. So far, seven members of the gang have been arrested, while one suspect is believed to have fled to Nepal.

The syndicate had set up a secret lab in a poultry farm in the Thal area of Pithoragarh. The raw materials were sourced from Ghaziabad and Banaras. Police stated that the recovered chemicals were enough to produce nearly 6 kg of MDMA.

Kunal Kohli, the main accused, has multiple cases registered against him in both Uttarakhand and Maharashtra. The DGP has announced a reward of ₹1 lakh for the police team that uncovered the racket.
