Uttarakhand STF Nabs Nigerian in Multi-Crore Parcel Fraud

Dehradun: The Uttarakhand STF Cyber Crime Unit has arrested Colinus Ugochukwu Nwaemuka, a Nigerian national, from Delhi for masterminding a multi-crore international parcel fraud.

A Dehradun woman was cheated of ₹28.98 lakh after being lured via Facebook and duped through a fake logistics firm (Flota Logistics) with repeated demands for customs and clearance charges. Fraudsters also impersonated cyber security officials and police to extort more money.

The operation, led by SSP Navneet Singh Bhullar, was executed by STF’s cyber commandos trained under I4C, MHA. Police seized 15 mobiles, 10 SIM cards, 5 ATM cards, 2 passports, a laptop, and other IDs.

Preliminary probe shows crores transacted through linked bank accounts; inter-state links are being verified.

Police urged the public to avoid befriending strangers online, not to share financial details, and stay cautious of quick-profit schemes.
