Dehradun Virasat Festival Showcases Global Folk Culture

Dehradun: The Virasat Art and Heritage Festival, held at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Stadium since October 4, is delighting audiences with performances by folk artists from India and abroad. This year marks the 30th edition of the festival, dedicated to the memory of the Hiroshima atomic bomb tragedy.

Kyrgyzstan’s Melodic Magic: A 12-member group of Kyrgyz artists mesmerized the audience with traditional instruments like Komuz, Dombra, and Violin.

Highlights from Sri Lanka and Belarus: Sri Lankan performers presented the unique Sabaragamuwa Natum dance and folk songs, while Belarusian artists impressed with a blend of folk music, dance, and modern compositions.

Significance: The festival not only celebrates art and culture but also promotes awareness of humanity, giving audiences a vibrant experience of global cultural diversity.
