UCOST Hosts Major Science & Disaster Meet in Dehradun
Dehradun: UCOST, under the World Summit on Disaster Management (WSDM 2025) and the 20th State Science & Technology Conference (USSTC), organised research presentations and technical sessions at Graphic Era University.
Researchers from India and abroad presented papers across 20+ technical fields. Twelve specialised sessions covered topics like disaster risk finance, space technology, carbon ecosystems, media’s role, the Sikkim model, and Himalayan corridor development.
A Water Conclave highlighted issues of river systems, climate change, glacier shifts, illegal sand mining, and the need for integrated water policy. Officials stressed better coordination between scientific institutions and administration.
A dedicated session discussed media’s role during disasters.
More than 500 researchers took part in the event.
