Roorkee: A major data leak linked to JEE Advanced 2026 has come to light after a cybersecurity researcher claimed that records of nearly 1.79 lakh candidates and around 1.87 lakh admit card PDFs were accessible online without authentication.

The researcher alleged that a cloud storage configuration flaw exposed sensitive candidate information, including names, dates of birth, and mobile numbers. Screenshots shared on social media reportedly showed access to candidate records and admit card files.

Responding to the issue, IIT Roorkee acknowledged the configuration error and said the problem was addressed on priority. The institute added that the affected data was stored in “read-only mode,” making any modification or tampering impossible.
