Heavy rains have transformed the Balganga River into a raging force, wreaking havoc in the Vinaykhal area of Balganga tehsil. The heavy downpour has devastated many acres of agricultural land in the villages of Toli, Tingarh, and Jakhana, causing widespread destruction.

The relentless rain has washed away significant portions of the Vinaykhal-Jakhana motor route, submerging parts of the road in the river and cutting off villagers from main markets and the district headquarters.

Tehri district has experienced extensive damage due to the severe weather. Many ancestral gharats (water mills) have been swallowed by the river. The heavy rains in the Vinaykhal-Budhakedar area late last night have disrupted road connectivity and left several villages, including Toli, Tingarh, and Jakhana, isolated. Additionally, electricity supply in the region has come to a standstill, and the damage to the gharats has been substantial.

The violent surge of the Balganga River forced residents near the Budhakedar main market bridge to evacuate their homes in the dead of night. River erosion has submerged roads, further severing the link between villagers and essential services.

Authorities are working to restore connectivity and provide aid to the affected areas as quickly as possible.
