In a recent directive issued by Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, it has become mandatory for all passenger vehicles in Uttarakhand to have dustbins.

And, the Transport Officer of Dehradun Shailesh Tiwari confirmed that the mandate applies to all passenger vehicles entering Uttarakhand, including those on the Char Dham Yatra. Although a similar rule existed previously, it was not strictly enforced.

However, following the Chief Secretary`s instructions, the Transport Department is now rigorously implementing the requirement. Vehicles found without dustbins will face heavy penalties.

Transport officials are conducting checks at all entry points and making drivers aware of the new regulations. Drivers are advised to place a dustbin or a bag on each seat to facilitate waste disposal, contributing to the cleanliness of Uttarakhand.
