Strict Action by DM on Unsafe Road Works, Contractors Face FIRs
District Magistrate (DM) Savin Bansal has taken stern action against negligence in road cutting and construction work by filing FIRs against three contractors and a junior engineer (JE) at Rajpur Road, Patel Nagar, and Nehru Colony police stations.
An investigation by the Quick Response Team (QRT) revealed violations of prescribed conditions. Construction was allowed only between 10 PM and 5 AM, but work was being carried out during the day as well. Instead of 100 meters, excavation was extended to 300-400 meters, and there was a lack of barricading and safety arrangements. Non-compliance with standards caused public inconvenience and increased the risk of accidents.
The DM emphasized that public safety is paramount and any negligence will not be tolerated. He directed that construction work must adhere to all standards and instructed the QRT to maintain continuous monitoring. This action highlights the DM`s commitment to the well-being and safety of the public.
