Dehradun: The IPSC Under-17 Girls Football Tournament 2025 kicked off with great enthusiasm at Selaqui International School, Dehradun. The opening ceremony was graced by the school’s Principal, Dr. Dilip Kumar Panda, who declared the tournament open with an inspiring address. Senior faculty member Mr. Hamish delivered the welcome speech, while Tamanna, the captain of Vidya Devi Jindal School, Hisar, administered the players` oath with fervor and commitment to sportsmanship.

The tournament is not just a competition but a celebration of friendship, leadership, and excellence among some of India’s most reputed educational institutions. Over 80 talented players from prestigious schools including Mayo Girls College (Ajmer), Vidya Devi Jindal School (Hisar), Birla Balika Vidyapeeth (Pilani), Kittur Sainik School (Karnataka), and PGS are participating.

In the inaugural match, Birla Balika Vidyapeeth, Pilani showcased remarkable skill, defeating Kittur Sainik School, Karnataka with a dominating score of 12-0. Star performer Tanishka from BBVP led the charge with an impressive four goals, giving her team a commanding victory.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Panda emphasized that sports are not merely about medals but play a crucial role in shaping character, instilling discipline, and nurturing leadership. He hailed each participating player as a beacon of the nation’s promising future.

With this inspiring start, the IPSC U-17 Girls Football Tournament 2025 promises to be a dynamic and memorable sporting event.
