Dehradun: The convocation ceremony for the 2023–25 batch of Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer trainees was held on 30 July at the Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy (IGNFA), Dehradun. A total of 109 Indian officers, including 22 women, successfully completed their training, along with 2 foreign trainees from Bhutan.

This is the largest IFS batch to graduate in the 21st century. The chief guest at the ceremony was Hon’ble Justice V. Ramasubramanian, Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission, who awarded certificates and medals to the officers. In his address, he urged the young officers to uphold integrity, discipline, and compassion throughout their service careers.

IGNFA Director Dr. Jagmohan Sharma presented the director’s report, highlighting that 50 officers earned Honours Diplomas by securing over 75% marks. This batch was also the first to graduate under the revised curriculum introduced in 2023, which included hands-on training in forestry governance and NGO attachments.

Midhunmohan S.B. from the Kerala cadre emerged as the batch topper. The ceremony concluded with best wishes extended to all officers for a bright and successful future.
