CM Champions Trophy Begins Dec 23; 1.10 Lakh Players Registered

Dehradun: Uttarakhand is set to host the CM Champions Trophy from December 23 to January 28, transforming the state’s traditional Khel Mahakumbh into a larger sports initiative. Sports Minister Rekha Arya announced that the competition will be held in four stages—Nyay Panchayat, Assembly, Parliamentary, and State level—covering 26 sports disciplines, with a special focus on traditional games.

The state-level winners will receive a ₹5 lakh CM Cup, while ₹2 lakh will be awarded at the parliamentary level and ₹1 lakh at the assembly level. Players breaking a national record will get an additional ₹1 lakh.

Registration began on October 14, and over 1.10 lakh players have already signed up. The last date to register is December 22.

Special categories have also been arranged for divyang (specially-abled) athletes, including athletics, badminton, and swimming.
