Dehradun: Uttarakhand has achieved a major milestone at WINGS INDIA 2026, held at Begumpet Airport in Hyderabad from January 29 to 31, 2026. The state was awarded “Best State for Promotion of Aviation & Ecosystem” at the prestigious national aviation event.

The award was presented by the Union Civil Aviation Minister in recognition of Uttarakhand’s efforts to strengthen air connectivity and promote the aviation sector.

The state’s initiatives include expansion of helicopter services for the Char Dham Yatra, development of heliports and helipads, improved passenger safety, and effective use of aviation resources for disaster management and emergency services.

Uttarakhand’s efforts to connect remote and border areas through the UDAN scheme, upgrade airstrips, and promote heli-tourism were also praised at the national level.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said the award reflects the collective efforts of the state government and aviation stakeholders, and will open new opportunities for tourism, investment, employment, and infrastructure development.
