Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government has launched the Unified Ration Card Management System (URCMS) portal to make ration card services easier and more transparent. District Supply Officer KK Aggarwal said citizens can now apply for new ration cards, add or remove family members and make corrections online from home.

Officials said the upgraded portal offers simpler processes and will reduce repeated visits to government offices and ration shops. Applicants can submit forms and upload documents through the “Citizen Login” option on the official portal.

For new ration cards, Aadhaar-based OTP verification will be mandatory, while existing card holders will need to log in using the registered mobile number of the family head for any changes. Officials said the OTP system will improve transparency and security.

Aggarwal also urged all ration card holders to complete their e-KYC through the “Mera e-KYC” app before May 30.
