IIT Roorkee Signs Agreements for Next-Gen Battery Technologies
Roorkee: Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee has signed two technology transfer agreements for advanced lithium-ion battery electrode technologies developed by Prof. Anjan Sil. The technologies have been transferred to Cathion Energy Private Limited for further development and commercialisation.
The technologies aim to improve the energy density, charging capability, and overall performance of Li-ion batteries. They are expected to support the growing demand for efficient energy storage solutions in electric mobility, portable electronics, and renewable energy sectors.
Prof. Anjan Sil said the transfer marks an important step in converting laboratory research into industrial applications. Cathion Energy CEO Dr. Hari Raj said the collaboration has strong potential to strengthen the energy storage and electric mobility sectors.
IIT Roorkee Director Prof. Kamal K. Pant said the institute remains committed to promoting innovation and industry-academia collaboration in emerging and strategic sectors.
