The state, nestled in the picturesque Himalayas, is bracing itself for potential power shortages that could have a significant impact, particularly during the upcoming chilly winter months. With the allocated electricity supply quota from the central government on the verge of exhaustion, Uttarakhand finds itself on the precipice of a challenging situation. The impending shortage raises concerns about the state`s ability to meet the energy demands of its residents and industries, especially during the winter season when power consumption typically spikes.

Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami has taken a proactive stance by scheduling a crucial meeting with Union Power Minister R K Singh. This strategic move demonstrates the state`s commitment to addressing the impending crisis and seeking potential solutions at the central level.

According to officials, starting from October onwards, Uttarakhand is projected to face a substantial shortage of approximately 300-400 kilowatts, significantly impacting daily life and economic activities. The repercussions of such a shortage could extend to disruptions in household activities, commercial establishments, and essential services, casting a shadow of uncertainty over the state`s residents.
