Atal Utkarsh Vidyalayas in Uttarakhand register ‘worst’ academic performance
Atal Utkarsh Schools achieved worst ever academic performance in recently declared CBSE exam results. Around 12,534 students who registered themselves for CBSE board only 6454 were able to clear the examination. Rest of the 49 per cent students failed the exams. Similarly, in high school 8626 registered for the examination but only 5141 students cleared the exams registering a pass percentage of 60.49 per cent.
The education department in 2019 transferred 189 state government schools to CBSE syllabus which were earlier affiliated to state board to exhibit better academic performance in comparison with private schools. The schools were renamed Atal Utkarsh Vidyalaya and the decision was taken to showcase better academic results compared to deluge of private schools mushrooming in the state.
