The Uttarakhand Landslide Mitigation and Management Centre (ULMMC) has announced plans to offer consultancy services to various departments. These services will be available at nearly half the market rates. During a workshop on Friday, Disaster Management Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman stated that ULMMC will now also provide services such as DPR preparation, landslide management, and water and geophysical surveys.

Ahead of the 2025 Char Dham Yatra, safety measures will be implemented in landslide-prone areas. Landslide hotspots on routes like the Rishikesh-Badrinath and Rudraprayag-Kedarnath highways will be equipped with devices to predict future landslides.

ULMMC is leveraging advanced technologies for high-resolution studies and GIS mapping. A state-of-the-art laboratory will soon be set up at the USDMA building. The institution is currently providing services in locations like Gopeshwar, Nainital, Mussoorie, and Joshimath.

Additional Chief Executive Officer Anand Swaroop emphasized that ULMMC is the first institution in the country solely dedicated to landslide management and is working toward becoming a world-class center.

This initiative has been widely appreciated by officials, marking a significant step toward accessible and affordable technical services in the state.
