Uttarakhand STF Arrested Two with Charas Worth ₹30 Lakh in Nainital

Uttarakhand Police`s Special Task Force (STF) has achieved significant success against drug trafficking. The Anti-Narcotics Task Force of STF`s Kumaon Unit arrested two traffickers in the Khansyu police station area of Nainital and seized 5.457 kg of charas worth ₹30 lakh. The accused, Mahendra Singh Chilwal and Bacchi Singh, confessed during interrogation that they were planning to sell the charas in Haldwani and Kathgodam.

This operation was carried out under the Drug-Free Devbhoomi Campaign launched by the Honorable Chief Minister, as per the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police (STF), Mr. Navneet Bhullar.

In 2024, the STF arrested 62 traffickers and seized narcotics worth over ₹23 crore, including significant quantities of charas, smack, opium, and other substances.

This operation marks another strong blow to drug trafficking in the state, with the STF determined to continue its efforts to eradicate drug networks.
