Chief Secretary Radha Raturi held a meeting with representatives of UN Women India at the Secretariat, issuing key directives on women’s education, skill development, and transportation.

She instructed the Higher Education Department to make liberal amendments to the rules to facilitate the re-entry of dropout women into educational institutions. She also directed that Anganwadi centers in villages be utilized for women’s skill development training and that an affordable and accessible transportation system be implemented for female students.

Representatives from UN Women India stated that their focus is on women’s income security, ending gender-based violence, and economic empowerment. The Chief Secretary appointed the Skill Development Department as the nodal agency to ensure the effective implementation of these initiatives.
