Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the seminar "Climate Change and Renewable Energy – Challenges and Solutions" organized by the Wadia Institute in Dehradun. He emphasized the need to raise awareness about climate change, calling it a global crisis. He highlighted that under the Hariyali Mission, millions of trees are being planted, and through the Jal Shakti Abhiyan, water sources in 1,000 villages are being revived.

He also shared details about the Spring and River Rejuvenation Authority, which is working to conserve 5,500 water sources and 292 tributaries. Additionally, he mentioned the establishment of a Glacier Study Center in collaboration with the Wadia Institute.

CM Dhami stated that the 38th National Games were organized under the Green-Games theme, with 2.77 hectares of land designated as ‘Khel Van’ (Sports Forest) by planting trees in the names of medal winners. Uttarakhand has become the first state in the country to implement the Gross Environment Product (GEP) Index.

The government is working towards a target of 1,400 MW solar energy by 2027, supported by subsidies under the PM Suryaghar Yojana and Mukhyamantri Solar Swarozgar Yojana. Forest Minister Subodh Uniyal stressed the importance of involving local communities in forest conservation and implementing a detailed plan to prevent forest fires.
