Dehradun: Uttarakhand will receive ₹615 crore this financial year under the SASCI scheme (Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment) in untied funds from the Government of India. To ensure timely and effective use of the funds, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan chaired a review meeting and urged all departments to expedite implementation of centrally-mandated reforms.

Departments including Mining, Transport, Urban Development, Housing, Finance, Revenue, and Agriculture have been asked to submit detailed roadmaps with timelines within a week. The Chief Secretary emphasized prioritizing high-impact projects that can be completed quickly and directed departments that have completed development works under SASCI to immediately submit utilization certificates.

Sector-Specific Reforms Highlighted
The Mining Department was instructed to fast-track policies on minor minerals, conduct mineral surveys, implement star ratings, and expedite auctions. The Transport Department was directed to promote electric vehicles, enforce pollution control, and enhance road safety through digital tools like e-challan and online traffic management.

The Revenue Department was told to speed up digitization of land records, digital crop surveys, and revenue court systems. Finance and Planning departments were tasked with modernizing financial management, boosting transparency through digitization, and improving Aadhaar-based Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) systems.

The Planning Department noted that while ₹615 crore in untied funds is assured, further disbursements will depend on the pace of reforms.
