From Hills to High-Tech: Uttarakhand Big Push for Digital Governance

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, on Tuesday at the Chief Sevak Sadan in the CM Camp Office, inaugurated several Information & Communication Technology-enabled services and made four major announcements. These include the establishment of a Next-Generation Data Centre, an AI Mission, a Remote Sensing & Drone Application Centre, and a dedicated IT Cadre for the state.

The 5 initiatives launched are – the ‘Digital Uttarakhand’ app, 66 government websites based on the S3Waas platform, GIS-based real-time tracking of urban waste collection vehicles, a web app for reporting encroachments, and AI-powered enhancements in the 1905 CM Helpline.

The CM said that under the vision of “Hill to High-Tech,” the state is expanding e-health services, smart classrooms, telemedicine, and 886 online public services. Currently, 95% of the state’s villages have telecom connectivity.
