Central Team Surveys Tharali, ₹1,150 Cr Damage Reported
Chamoli: An inter-ministerial team of the Government of India conducted an aerial and ground survey of disaster-affected areas in Tharali and nearby regions on Monday. The team was led by Director Dr. Virendra Singh.
The team inspected landslide-hit areas including Chepado, Kotdeep, Radibagad, Mopata, and Nandnagar. At Kulsari Relief Center, District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari informed that departmental assets worth around ₹1,150 crore have been damaged so far.
During the visit, the team interacted with local residents and heard their concerns. Several villages have lost road connectivity, houses were damaged, and some families had to be relocated.
The team appreciated the prompt relief and rescue efforts by the local administration and NDRF, and assured that a detailed report would be submitted to the central government to ensure timely assistance and reconstruction plans.
