Uttarakhand GST Reforms Boost Agriculture, Tourism, and Industry

Dehradun: The recent GST rate cuts by the central government have given a significant boost to Uttarakhand’s economy. Livelihood opportunities in the hills are expected to grow, while industrial activity in the plains is set to accelerate.

GST on Tor Dal, Red Rice, and Lakhori Chili has been reduced from 12% to 5%. Traditional crafts like Appan art, woolen garments, and other handicrafts will also benefit, helping thousands of families.

GST on hotel charges up to ₹7,500 has been reduced to 5%, providing a boost to small hotels and homestays. The Medical Device Park is also expected to see increased investment and employment opportunities.

A New Direction for Development
Experts say these reforms will strengthen Uttarakhand’s environmentally sustainable economy and promote balanced growth.
