Roorkee: CSIR–CBRI Roorkee hosted the curtain raiser of the 11th India International Science Festival (IISF) 2025. This year’s theme is “Prosperity Through Science: Towards A Self-reliant India.” The main event will be held from 6–9 December 2025 at Panjab University, Chandigarh, coordinated by the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) and IITM Pune.

Dr. Neeraj Jain welcomed participants and highlighted IISF’s objective of uniting scientists, innovators, students and policymakers to promote collaboration, innovation and knowledge-sharing. Senior scientist Dr. D.P. Kanungo and chief guest Dr. Ashish Raturi addressed students, stressing the importance of scientific temperament, astronomy, space awareness and real-world problem solving.

Dr. Saumitra Maity also presented on sustainable building materials using waste. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and a visit to CBRI laboratories and Rural Technology Park by participating students, including those from Central University of Haryana.
