The Health Department played a crucial role in the successful organization of the 38th National Games. During the event, 5,054 athletes received medical treatment, while 138 were referred for advanced care. Under the leadership of Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar, medical teams were deployed round-the-clock at all game venues and nearby health centers.

A total of 141 medical teams were formed for the event, comprising doctors, nursing staff, physiotherapists, pharmacists, and ward boys. Special medical centers were set up across nine districts, including Dehradun, Nainital, and Haridwar.

Key arrangements for the National Games included temporary hospitals in Dehradun and Haldwani, deployment of 115 ambulances along with helicopter ambulance services, a 5-bed reserve at AIIMS Rishikesh, and specialized training for 50 doctors to ensure top-notch medical care for athletes.

Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar stated, “We made every effort to provide the best medical facilities to athletes and guests. Our team remained fully prepared and successfully delivered all necessary services.”

The excellent preparations by the Health Department demonstrated that Uttarakhand is fully capable of hosting major sporting events efficiently.
