Tehri Lake Hosts Grand International Water Sports Finale
Dehradun: The International President Cup-2025 and 4th Tehri Water Sports Cup-2025 concluded at Tehri Lake on Sunday. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the closing ceremony and interacted with athletes.
Over 300 players from 22 countries participated, boosting Tehri Lake’s image as an international adventure sports hub. CM Dhami said Uttarakhand will continue hosting such major events to promote tourism and sports.
He highlighted the state’s strong performance in the 38th National Games, winning 103 medals and securing 7th place. He also announced a new Sports Legacy Plan, under which 23 sports academies will be set up to train 920 international-level athletes annually.
The Chief Minister congratulated the winners and said sportsmanship is the true victory, expressing confidence that Indian athletes will continue to excel globally.
