‘Fire Warriors’ Brings Uttarakhand’s Forest Struggles to International Film Festival

Dehradun: A Hindi short film Fire Warriors, based on the struggles and sacrifices of forest workers in Uttarakhand, has been selected for the third edition of the Waves International Short Film Festival in Goa. The festival is being held from May 7 to 10 in Panaji.

Directed by Dehradun filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, the 29-minute film is inspired by the real-life experiences and diary notes of IFS officer T.R. Bijulal. It was shot across scenic locations in Kumaon, including Ramgarh, Mahesh Khan, Tagore Top and Binsar.

The film highlights the courage of forest personnel and villagers working to protect forests and wildlife. Inspired by Almora’s “Sheetlakhet Model,” it also pays tribute to the five people who lost their lives in the 2024 Binsar wildlife sanctuary fire.

Produced by Star Fortune Movies and Reality Films, Fire Warriors is dedicated to the unsung heroes protecting forests and wildlife.
