New Delhi/Dehradun: Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav said that the path to “Viksit Bharat” goes through “Harit Bharat” while interacting with Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers undergoing Mid-Career Training at the Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy in Dehradun.

Addressing the officers at Indira Paryavaran Bhavan in New Delhi, the minister said the responsibility of forest officers continues even after retirement, as they remain the voice of the country’s flora and fauna. Union Minister of State Kirti Vardhan Singh and senior ministry officials were also present at the event.

Bhupender Yadav said India is emerging as a global leader in conservation efforts and informed that the country will host the first-ever International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA) Summit in the first week of June, with participation from around 95 countries and international organisations.

During the interaction, the minister discussed cheetah conservation, Great Indian Bustard protection, the role of tiger reserves in sustaining river systems, and balancing development with environmental conservation. He also highlighted India’s progress in climate change mitigation and achieving its NDC targets ahead of schedule.
