District Magistrate Savin Bansal has canceled the license of the controversial wine and beer shop in Suddhowala with immediate effect. This decision was taken under the powers granted by Sections 34 and 59 of the Excise Act, 1910. After hearing both parties and conducting a thorough investigation, the DM announced this strict decision, strengthening public trust in the administration.

Local residents, especially women and the elderly, had been protesting for months, arguing that the liquor shop was negatively affecting the surrounding environment and students from nearby educational institutions. They also alleged irregularities in the shop`s location and violations of licensing norms.

After reviewing the report from the local intelligence unit and all relevant facts, the DM canceled license number 84/2024-25 (issued on 25-10-2024) and directed the District Excise Officer to ensure immediate action.

The DM’s decision has brought relief and happiness to the people of Suddhowala and nearby areas. Locals consider this a just decision and a strong stance by the administration.
