Dehradun: The central government has approved a Health Emergency Operation Centre (HEOC) in Uttarakhand under the Prime Minister Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM). The centre will strengthen the state’s disaster management capacity and ensure timely, coordinated responses during health emergencies.

Nine contractual posts have been sanctioned for HEOC, with funding available until 2026 under the project.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami called it a significant step for the state’s health security and thanked the Prime Minister and Union Health Minister. Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar said recruitment will start soon to make HEOC operational.

HEOCs nationwide aim to strengthen India’s public health infrastructure and disaster response system.
