AITA U-12 National Tennis Tournament Begins in Selakui
Dehradun: The AITA Under-12 National Series Tennis Tournament has started at Selakui International School, featuring 71 young players from across India. The event, organized by the Uttarakhand Tennis Association, will continue till November 22.
The boys’ draw includes 47 players with 16 seeded, while the girls’ draw features 24 players including 8 seeded. Many participants are competing at the national level for the first time.
Qualifying matches marked the opening day, displaying strong competition and impressive skills despite cold weather. Tournament Director Kanwaljeet Singh Dhaliwal praised the players’ discipline and energy, calling it a glimpse of India’s tennis future. Referee Anton D’Souza oversaw match proceedings.
With the main draw now underway, exciting contests and emerging talent are expected throughout the week.
