25 Years on the Run: Uttarakhand STF Nabs ₹2 Lakh Bounty Murder Accused

The Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) has successfully arrested Suresh Sharma, a fugitive on the run for 25 years, from Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. Sharma was wanted for the public murder of DGC (Criminal) Balakrishna Bhatt in Badrinath in 1999.

Suresh evaded arrest by assuming false identities in cities like Mumbai and Kolkata. Using advanced fingerprint and facial recognition technology, the STF confirmed his identity.

Under the guidance of SSP Navneet Singh Bhullar, the STF team conducted operations across Maharashtra, West Bengal, and Jharkhand, culminating in Suresh`s arrest on January 23, 2025.

This arrest demonstrates the STF`s relentless efforts and technical expertise in tackling organized crime. Inspector General Nilesh Anand Bharne commended the team`s success and sent a clear message that justice will always prevail.
