Dehradun: The Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Uttarakhand has completed one year, during which more than five lakh applications have been received for various services—without a single complaint of privacy violation.

Officials said nearly 100 percent of UCC services are being delivered through a faceless online portal, allowing citizens to apply from home without visiting government offices. Strong security mechanisms ensure that once an application is approved, even officials cannot access the applicant’s private information. Only the applicant can view their data through a secure verification process.

Over the past year, people have used UCC provisions for marriage and divorce registration, wills, live-in relationship registration and termination. Certificates are being issued in an average of five days, saving time and effort.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said the successful implementation of UCC has addressed all privacy concerns and stands as a strong example of good governance in the state.
