In the midst of crucial electioneering and day-to-day activities in Uttarakhand, the state unit of the Indian National Congress finds itself grappling with a series of challenges following the freezing of its bank account. The freeze has severely hindered the party`s ability to conduct essential tasks and propel its campaign efforts in the Himalayan state.

One of the most pressing issues confronting the state unit is its inability to meet financial obligations, including the payment of salaries for employees and staff, particularly those within the IT cell. The scarcity of resources has further exacerbated the situation, making it challenging to fund vital social media campaigns aimed at engaging with voters and disseminating party messages effectively.

Compelled to adapt to the circumstances, party workers and leaders have taken on the role of social media warriors, intensifying their online presence by each posting up to 50 times daily. Despite their concerted efforts, party leaders lament the absence of a level playing field with the ruling BJP, making it increasingly arduous to mount a robust election campaign on behalf of the party`s candidates.

Karan Mahara, President of the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) in Uttarakhand, revealed the extent of the financial strain, disclosing that the state unit has not received funds from the central office for three months. In light of this, the party has relied heavily on the voluntary services of grassroots workers to propagate its message on the ground.

Undeterred by the challenges, the state unit has devised a strategic plan to decentralize voter outreach activities, organizing them at the village, block, and district levels. Emphasizing grassroots participation, Congress workers residing in remote areas are encouraged to attend party events at the district level, fostering a sense of inclusivity and engagement within the party ranks.

In the face of adversity, Karan Mahara exudes confidence, asserting, "The worst times bring out the best in me." His steadfast resolve underscores the party`s determination to navigate through the current adversities and emerge resilient in its pursuit of electoral success in Uttarakhand.
