Uttarakhand Boosts Drug Safety with 18 New Inspectors
The Uttarakhand government has issued appointment orders for 18 new posts of Grade-2 Drug Inspectors. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat extended their best wishes to the newly appointed inspectors and urged them to work with dedication and integrity.
Health Secretary and Head of Food Safety & Drug Administration, Uttarakhand, Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar, stated that these appointments have been made through the Medical Health & Medical Education Department and the Public Service Commission. He emphasized that this step will strengthen drug administration and ensure the availability of quality medicines in the state.
Dr. Rajesh Kumar further stated that the appointment of new drug inspectors will help in taking strict action against counterfeit and substandard medicines. The inspectors have been instructed to conduct regular inspections of drug sellers and pharmaceutical companies in their respective areas. They will also be integrated with modern digital monitoring systems to closely monitor the quality of medicines available in the market.
According to the government-issued deployment list, the appointed drug inspectors include Nidhi Sharma (Udham Singh Nagar), Vinod Panwar (Dehradun), Shubham Kotalala (Udham Singh Nagar), Hardik Bhatt (Chamoli), Anuja Uppal (Nainital), Amit Kumar Azad (Rudraprayag), Hariom Singh (Haridwar), among others.
The government has urged all newly appointed drug inspectors to assume their responsibilities as soon as possible to effectively implement drug inspection and quality control across the state.
