HEOC Project Gains Momentum in Uttarakhand
Dehradun: Construction of the Health Emergency Operation Centre (HEOC) in Dehradun is progressing rapidly under PM-ABHIM, giving a major push to Uttarakhand’s disaster and pandemic preparedness. A high-level central team inspected the site and expressed satisfaction over construction quality and state efforts.
Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar said that 50% work is complete and the centre is expected to be ready by January 2026, after which it will be handed over to the state. Training of officials for operating the centre has already begun.
The HEOC will strengthen rapid emergency response, early disease detection, real-time monitoring and coordination across districts. For a disaster-prone hill state, this centre will become a key pillar of future health security and help Uttarakhand align with national public health standards.
