Dehradun: A successful seaplane trial landing at the Ganga Barrage in Rishikesh has marked a significant step toward boosting air connectivity and tourism in Uttarakhand. The trial, conducted by a private company, demonstrated the technical feasibility of operating seaplane services in the region.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the state government has been actively promoting modern transport infrastructure. This initiative is expected to make travel to key religious and tourist destinations faster and more convenient.

Experts believe that the introduction of seaplane services will give a major push to the Char Dham Yatra, adventure tourism, and weekend travel. It is also likely to attract both domestic and international tourists, creating new employment opportunities and boosting the local economy.

The government is planning to expand the service to other water bodies, including Tehri Lake and Nainital Lake, with the aim of developing Uttarakhand into a leading seaplane tourism destination in India.
