Dehradun: Chief Secretary Shri Anand Bardhan chaired a meeting of the State-Level Screening Committee under the CM-National Agricultural Development Scheme at the Secretariat on Wednesday. He directed that the Project Screening Committee meet in December and the Screening Committee in March, so that project work can begin in April.

He stressed adopting the Agriculture Skill Council of India’s syllabus under Skill India for gardener training and asked districts to assess Farm Machinery Banks and their impact on productivity.

Proposing GB Pant Agricultural University as the state’s Carbon Credit Agency, he said it could play a vital role. He also asked Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali University of Horticulture and Forestry, Bharsar, to focus on grafting techniques, especially for high-demand walnut plants.

The Chief Secretary directed departments to define clear outcome indicators and strict timelines for all projects. Senior officials and institutional representatives attended the meeting.
